Dr. Joanna Choi was born and raised on Long Island, New York, where her journey in animal care began at her local animal hospital. She graduated from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience while delving into Parkinson's disease research at Harvard Medical School and later worked at the New York Aquarium, nurturing her interest in marine life and conservation efforts. Driven by her love for animals, she pursued her veterinary education at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her degree and laying the foundation for her future in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Choi has a keen interest in surgery, urgent care, dentistry, and preventative medicine, and is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to every furry patient while considering each pet parent's needs and concerns. Beyond her professional endeavors, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, exploring local sites and restaurants, and whipping up delicious treats for friends, family, and her beloved senior Jack Russell terrier named Maya.
